Model Jody Palmer just completed a black-and-white photo class as one of her degree requirements. At that time, Jody lived in Los Angeles, California. For Jody Palmer's last portfolio project, she wanted to photograph something that many people may never witness -the reality of poverty that affects our society even today. Ms. Palmer chose Los Angeles' Skid Row, where garbage and tattered blankets pile up along the street and crime reigns supreme. Ms. Palmer and an associate went to Skid Row during the day and took something to eat to some of the homeless residents, in hopes of not intruding on the people there. Jody spoke to some of them, and those that didn't shout at her or run her off to her vehicle let Jody to photograph them in their unfortunate environment. Ms. Palmer developed the photos in the dark room and shared it with her fellow pupils and other students at her school, in hopes of motivating others to assist the homeless whenever possible.
